ClipStore backs up clips from a selected directory on an omneon server to a directory on another.
- Third Party Transfer ClipStore employs third-party ftp - it instructs a mediadirector to ftp a clip from a directory on it's local filesystem directly to a directory on a remote filesystem. ClipStore can therefore be run anywhere where it has network connectivity to source and destination in a non-cpu intensive manner. Clip network traffic does not pass through the pc running ClipStore.
- Statistics ClipStore collects free space information from both servers and performs a daily email, summarising how many clips were transferred, how many deleted, and how many modified clips re-sent.
- Purge Delay Configurable delete-hold period. If a clip is deleted from the main storage, the corresponding clip is not deleted from backup till a configurable number of days have passed - this allows operators to recover from accidental clip deletion on the main server.
- Filter Ability to ignore clips longer than a configurable duration.
- Timed operation Avoid times of the day when the network may be busy - up to three windows of timed operation where transfers will NOT take place.
